Trauma-Sensitive Yoga
What to expect
Classes offer mindful yoga forms and breathing exercises to safely explore moving, strengthening, stretching and resting, in an accessible, supportive, and non-judgemental environment.

Participants are invited and empowered to choose what they are doing with their body

The facilitator practices with the class and is there to provide safe, professional guidance

There are no hands-on assists

No yoga experience is necessary

Who is it for

Anyone who has witnessed or experienced an event that left a lasting impression on their body and sense of self. For example, a physical or mental health condition, witnessed a traumatic event, had major surgery, or experienced substance dependency.

Classes are also suitable for anyone with depression, anxiety, or on the Autism spectrum

Anyone looking for a safe space to practice yoga and movement

What to bring

We provide yoga mats, but feel free to bring your own if you prefer

We provide some blocks and bolsters. You are welcome to bring any additional equipment you would like to use during class

If possible wear comfortable workout clothes and perhaps bring something warm to wear during rest. Change rooms are available
